Key Responsibilities
Oversee coordination of the COVID-19 grants in the Pacific in Tuvalu, Kiribati, Tonga and Samoa;
- Lead partner engagement for the COVID-19 projects supporting partners to implement activities in accordance with agreed work-plans;
- Oversee project close-up and exit of the COVID-19 projects, working with CitP and partners to ensure that project requirements are understood and met;
- Provide operational support to partners as needed to ensure that COVID-19 work-plans are implemented as agreed;
- Support admin and reporting related to COVID-19 projects in Fiji and the Solomon Islands as needed.
Oversee programme quality and MEAL of the COVID-19 grants in the Pacific in Tuvalu, Kiribati, Tonga and Samoa;
Work with partners to ensure that project MEL frameworks are understood and data is being collected and shared each month;
Oversee and coordinate an evaluation of COVID-19 projects, including working with the consultant/s, CitP staff and partners to meaningfully engage with the evaluation;
upport information management across the grants, including sharing resources and other information with partners and CitP regarding COVID-19 in the Pacific region; and
Support programme quality and M&E requirements of COVID-19 projects in Fiji and the Solomon Islands as needed.
Ideally you will have:
- At least 8 years’ experience working in the humanitarian sector and/or international development in the Pacific region;
- Demonstrated experience supporting coordination or management of humanitarian grants from major donors, experience with OFDA/BHA and DFAT preferable;
- Demonstrated experience supporting programme quality and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning of humanitarian or development programming, experience supporting project evaluations and reviews preferable;
- Demonstrated experience working alongside local civil-society organisations in the Pacific to support humanitarian and development programming and programme quality or MEAL;
- Very strong communication skills in cross-cultural environments, including the ability to speak and write effectively in English, with demonstrated experience preparing high quality reports for donors;
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work with limited supervision and remotely, and a consultative approach that is open to feedback;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in international development, social science or a related field, or equivalent experience; and
- An understanding of CARE’s vision, mission and values, and a commitment to uphold the CARE Australia Child Protection Code of Conduct and Preventing Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse policy for the duration of the assignment.
