Myanmar: Project Director, Community Cohesion

CARE is a leading international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities.

Since 2013 CARE has been implementing a project known as Opportunities for Economic Development (OFED) with the objective of strengthening communities and leaders and to prevent violence, due to inter-community conflict in Rakhine State. CARE International in Myanmar is looking to fill the position of Project Director, Community Cohesion which is responsible for managing the implementation of this project to achieve the greatest coverage and impact possible. This position plays a key role in building strong relationships with community partners and government officials as well as building the capacity of staff.

We are looking for applicants who are interested in working in an exciting and challenging environment with experience in large scale project management in conflict and post conflict settings, including knowledge of current best practice development approaches, tools and methodologies. Your experience in leadership and management in a complex international setting, as well as your excellent people management and interpersonal skills will make you an ideal candidate for this role. Your strong capacity building and communication skills, including experience building and managing diverse stakeholder relationships will set you apart from others.
